Absinthe’s Melody Sweets Seduces with New Album, Contract
So far it’s been a good year for the sultry singer Melody Sweets, who seduces audiences with her heavenly burlesque numbers as the Green Fairy from the wild and wacky show, Absinthe at Caesars Palace. Last month Sweets expanded her fan base with the release of her album “Burlesque In the Black” and now news has spread that she’s renewed her contract with the highly successful and risqué Caesars Palace show. But first, the new album!

Last month, as another successful Absinthe show wrapped and the audience began leaving the big top tent, another group of guests formed a line outside. Each of them had a special invitation to the debut album release party for Melody Sweets latest CD “Burlesque In The Black.”

Right at midnight, the tent went dark and the televisions scattered around the room flickered on to reveal fellow Absinthe star Penny Pibbets broadcasting live from the dressing room. After Penny’s interlude, Melody introduced her new video “Love Bite.” Melody then appeared on stage and sang the song live for the audience as she gyrated and pulsed with erotic burlesque numbers. It was just a taste of the talent guests were going to get from her latest CD and a reminder to come see her performs her exotic moves onstage in Absinthe five nights a week.

According to Sweets, the new album “is a compilation of songs for the stage; each song has a story to it, a burlesque act. Each song has been written with a different theme or sound in mind. There’s a common thread, but one has more country musicians, one is more digital sounding… It was fun for me because I got to work with all different types of musicians.”

And if you haven’t yet picked up “Burlesque In The Black” you just might get a chance to hear Melody sing one of the new songs while performing in Absinthe.  Melody has said in an interview that she might be replacing “Voodoo” with the new song from the album, “Up All Night.” But you’ll have plenty of time to see if she does with her new contract extension keeping her at the Las Vegas show through at least the fall of this year.

You can be cast under Melody’s sweet and sensual spell with discounted Absinthe tickets right here on Best of Vegas. Melody and Absinthe perform every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on select nights.
