Antonio Esfandiari Loses Big at Final Table of World Poker Tour
I can’t end the week without mentioning the shocker poker news from last Sunday at the Bellagio. For the past three years, Antonio Esfandiari has made it to the Final Table of the World Poker Tour but on Sunday, the poker pro saw the end of the line, and instead of winning $1.2 million and the cup he took home a measly $330,000. During the poker weekend, Antonio and Olympic gold-medal winner Michael Phelps were spotted enjoying meals at Fix at the Bellagio.

Newbie Ravi Raghavan won the big money in the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic. He beat out more than 500 entrants that started the game at the Bellagio. Raghavan will head to Asia for the first-ever WPT event in China where he will join fellow poker pro Phil Hellmuth at MGM Grand Sanya resort.

Despite his first loss in three years, Antonio still managed to celebrate his 34th birthday at Marquee in the Cosmopolitan on Monday night. The poker enthusiast was presented with a magic hat cake decorated with playing cards and poker chips. He partied the night away in a VIP table on the dance floor with Michael and friends by his side.

In other Las Vegas celebrity news, “American Idol” singer Taylor Hicks was spotted enjoying dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris with a small group of friends on Monday.

One of Las Vegas most famous Strip shows announced they would be relocating to the Venetian starting Jan 19. Australia’s singing group Human Nature has called Imperial Palace home for the last three years after Motown superstar executive Smokey Robinson helped them get a residency there. But now the Motown group will perform their soulful songs at the Venetian five nights a week in the 742-seat Sands Showroom.

Las Vegas resident and Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil is expanding his resume with a new reality TV show that starts filming here in the New Year. The series will show him celebrating his pilot license and flying high above the city with his entourage to visit the world’s best getaways.

The 2013 Miss Universe contestants have been heating up the Strip for the past week as they’ve endured glamour sessions, shot TV segments, posed for swimsuit shoots and rehearsed non-stop for the upcoming show at Planet Hollywood. They’ve been spotted all over town working, posing and playing at Las Vegas hotspots including the Flamingo, Gordon Ramsay’s Steak, Buca di Beppo and Bally’s. The 2012 Miss Universe Pageant will be broadcast Wednesday, Dec. 19 from PH Live at Planet Hollywood.

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. Check back Monday for this weekend’s complete celebrity breakdown.
