Arcade Fire will bring their Infinite Content Tour to Mandalay Bay Events Center Sunday, October 22, at 8 p.m. Produced by Live Nation, the show will also feature special guests Wolf Parade, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Phantogram, Angel Olsen and Broken Social Scene.
The indie rock band, consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Regine Cassagne, along with Win’s younger brother William Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara released their debut album Funeral in 2004. They were quickly hailed as one of the generation’s most exciting rock groups and their reputation has continued to skyrocket. The band’s second album, Neon Bible, won them the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best International Album and the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year. Just two years later, Arcade Fire released The Suburbs. It received the 2011 Grammy for Album of the Year, the 2011 Juno Award for Album of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album.
In 2013, Arcade Fire released their fourth album, Reflektor and was featured in the film Her, in which band members William Butler and Owen Pallett were nominated in the Best Original Score category at the Academy Awards. The band released their fifth studio album Everything Now in July.
Their first studio tour albums have received nominations for the Best Alternative Music Album Grammy. There work has also been named three times as a shortlist nominee for the Polaris Music Prize in 2007 for Non Bible, in 2011 for The Suburbs and in 2014 for Reflektor.
Among the instruments played are the drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, synthesizer, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin, and hurdy-gurdy.
