Aretha Franklin in a One Night Only Las Vegas Concert

Caesars Palace has done it again! The Las Vegas hotel knows how to bring in some of the biggest names in the music industry and on July 15 The Colosseum will be jam packed for a one night only performance from the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin.

If you used to belt out “(You Make Me Feel like) A Natural Woman” in the shower or you learned how to spell “respect” from screaming out R-E-S-P-E-C-T over and over again when you were a kid then you better not miss Aretha Franklin’s one-night only show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sunday, July 15. The 90-minute concert will take you back through some of Franklin’s greatest hits including “Think,” “Chain of Fools,” “Respect,” “(You Make Me Feel like) A Natural Woman” and more for a soulful performance only the Queen of Soul knows how to put on.

Franklin got her soulful start singing gospel at her father’s church in Detroit. She had such a powerful voice she made her first gospel recordings at the age of 14. After signing to Columbia and then Atlantic, Franklin finally caught her big break in the late 1960’s with the blues ballad, “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You.)” The song reached #9 on the pop chart and #1 on the R&B chart and launched Franklin into the soulful singer we know today.

In April of 1967, Franklin released her most popular song to date “Respect.” The song became an instant success, hitting #1 on both the pop and R&B charts and helped catapult Franklin further into stardom, earning her first two Grammys and was even hailed as the anthem of the 1960’s. High on the success of “Respect” Franklin went on to record “Baby I Love You,” “(You Make Me Feel like) A Natural Woman” and “Chain of Fools.”

In total, the Queen of Soul has won 18 Grammys, received two honorary Grammys, became the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has recorded countless hits and albums that we still sing and dance along to today. She was even ranked top in the Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” list and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. In 2011, Franklin issued her 38th studio release “A Woman Falling Out of Love” and now she’s bringing it all to the Caesars Palace stage for the most soulful night Las Vegas has ever seen!

For a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T this July, don’t miss Aretha Franklin’s one night only show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sunday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. You can find discounted tickets right here on Best of Vegas.
