The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas is certainly proving it has staying power in Las Vegas as it has recently become the home and work place for the popular Bravo reality TV show, “Top Chef Masters.” The 12 “cheftestants” for Season 4 of the reality TV series set up camp at the Cosmopolitan where they both worked with the culinary masters at the Las Vegas hotel and competed for the title of “Top Chef” as well as lived during the filming. Filming began in August and September of last year all around the resort’s property including Boulevard Pool and Wicked Spoon Buffet, which served as the site of the first elimination challenge. Las Vegas headliners even got in on the action as the contestants took over the buffet and cooked for 200 of the Strip’s performers including showgirls, guys from Thunder from Down Under, Tournament of Kings knights, pirates and the popular dance troupe Jabbawockeez in the show’s premiere on July 18. Fans can expect to see more Las Vegas Strip star power with several celebrity guest judges including Peepshow’s blonde beauty Holly Madison. In mid-July the Cosmopolitan celebrated both the series launch and the national exposure the Las Vegas hotel is bound to get for the run of the show with a Season 4 premiere party at Boulevard Pool at the resort. On July 25 Season 4 host and chef Curtis Stone, “TCM” Season 4 judges Francis Lam, James Oseland and Krista Simmons, “TCM” Season 3 cheftestant Hugh Acheson, Season 3 cheftestant Mary Sue Milliken of Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, Season 2 cheftestant Jonathan Waxman and Season 2 cheftestant Rick Moonen of RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay all arrived for the festivities. Also there: chef David Myers of Comme Ca at the Cosmopolitan and Season 4 cheftestants Patricia Yeo (Om Restaurant & Lounge/Moksa Pan Asian Izakaya), Art Smith (LYFE Kitchen/Southern Art Restaurants), Sue Torres (Suenos), Kerry Heffernan (a chef in NYC), Debbie Gold (Kansas City’s the American Restaurant), Mark Gaier (Arrows) and Clark Frasier (Arrows). And in continuing the celebration of being the host site for the competition, The Cosmopolitan will host viewing parties each Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Boulevard Pool where fans can watch the culinary competition on the hotel’s 65-foot digital marquee. Viewing parties are open to the public and are scheduled for Aug. 8, 15, 22, 29 and Sept. 5, 12, 19, with the finale Sept. 26.
