Carrot Top Takes Flight at Sky Combat Ace

The fiery red-headed prop comic Carrot Top played out his Top Gun fantasies on Tuesday as he took to the open Nevada skies in one of Sky Combat Ace’s fighter jets. The hilarious Luxor headliner wanted to show his F-16 pilot brother that he was more than just a funny guy.

“Maverick” or as Carrot Top liked to call himself, “Gambler” performed flips, spins, barrel rolls, hammerheads and loops high above the place where he makes audiences laugh on a nightly basis. In the end, Carrot Top proved he had what it takes to be a “Maverick” as he took control of the jet performing an aerial dogfight and scoring two “hits” on his brother’s plane. The “hit” produced billows of smoke coming out of his brother’s plane, which is just one of the many special effects Sky Combat is able to do for those who want to engage in an open-air jet battle!

In other celebrity news, Nino Frediani, the legendary juggler who earned the title of Fastest Juggler in the World came to visit his friend and magician Murray SawChuck Tuesday night at his show at the Tropicana. Frediani once wowed audiences with his juggling acts at the Hilton more than 20 years ago and was even featured in “The Great Radio City Spectacular” with the Rockettes and the long-running show City Lights.

“American Idol” Season 5 winner and Bally’s newest headliner Taylor Hicks showed off his charitable side on Tuesday when he presented a check for $12,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project during his show.

On Thursday, Hicks won the BiLLe Celeb Charity Challenge, an online contest where “Superfans” upload celebrities and “Fans” vote daily to send a pool of charitable funds to the winning celebrity’s charity of choice. Each week, the “Superfan” who nominated the winner and one “Fan” who voted for the winning celeb have a chance to be a part of the ceremonial check presentation. On Tuesday, that “Superfan” was Holly Dey from Connecticut.

And finally, here’s a sneak preview at one of the celebrities that will be entertaining Las Vegas’ audiences this weekend: American-punk band Cobra Starship will perform at Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool & Bungalows on Friday, August 3. Cobra Starship recently released their fourth studio album, “Night Shades,” featuring the single “You Make Me Feel” and chances are that will be one of the song’s the popular band sings during their performance so don’t miss it!

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today but I’ll be back tomorrow with more celebrity preview for the weekend.
