Cee Lo Green Brings Loberace to Las Vegas to Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood is about to get a new resident. Five-time Grammy Award winner and singer, songwriter, actor, and TV star Cee Lo Green is heading to the Strip this fall for a new show that features his “Loberace” character.

It was confirmed in March that the “Crazy” and “Forget You” singer and co-host of NBC’s The Voice, Cee Lo Green will set up shop for a few months this August and become Planet Hollywood’s newest resident headliner. Green has said that his new show titled “Cee Lo Green Presents Loberace” will be an electrifying journey into the world of his brainchild Loberace. Audiences will be taken on a colorful journey through legendary moments in music from Prince to Blue Magic to the Rolling Stone and more.

Just like the famous pianist and vocalist Liberace, who Loberace is no doubt inspired from, the show will is expected to combine Cee Lo’s stylic flair with over-the-top technology, magic, “sexified” showgirls, a larger-than-life wardrobe, and advanced stage design, all of which would make Liberace very proud.

The 28-date residency begins August 29 and runs through the end of December at Planet Hollywood's 1,400-seat theater Las Vegas’ newest production will be held after the hit Las Vegas show Peepshow with Holly Madison on Thursdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. and Saturdays at midnight, with additional shows at 11 p.m. on Wednesdays.

While this may be Cee Lo Green’s first residency show in Las Vegas the multi-talented performer is no novice when it comes to the spotlight. Cee Lo began his career as an original member of the Atlanta hip-hop group Goodie Mob, which released their debut album Soul Food in 1995.  Cee Lo was praised for his rapping and off-the-hook singing in the album. After focusing more on his rapping than singing on Goodie Mob’s next album, Still Standing, it was the group’s third album World Party where Green really found his voice, so much so that he left Goodie Mob to pursue a solo career.

After just two solo albums, Green joined the group Gnarles Barkley with Danger Mouse and soon found himself on top of the charts with the hit single “Crazy.” The album is the rapper’s greatest selling venture to date, having shipped over three million copies in the United States.

In 2010, Green returned to his solo career and released the instant hit “Forget You,” which he received five Grammy nominations for, and now he’s about to make another award-winning hit with Loberace, beginning this August at Planet Hollywood.

For the show that’s sure to be one of Las Vegas’s most visually stimulating, eclectic, and downright entertaining you can find discounted Loberace tickets right here on Best of Vegas.
