“The Voice” judge, singer and “Loberace” at Planet Hollywood teaser CeeLo Green was in town yesterday to film scenes from his special Christmas show, “CeeLo and Friends” at Planet Hollywood. The Grammy Award winning artist was joined by several stars including Disney’s The Muppets as together they performed an original song “All I need Is Love.” The holiday music concert will air on TV Guide Channel and on The Warner Sound Atlantic Records’ YouTube Channel this holiday season. Prior to recording, Green took a tour of the downtown Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. After meeting with Keep Memory Alive founder Larry Ruvo, CeeLo tweeted, “honored to be taking a tour of @ClevelandClinic – get familiar with them and @keepmemoryalive!” Stay tuned for more details on Keep Memory Alive and CeeLo’s new upcoming residency at Planet Hollywood. In other celebrity news, just one day after closing night of his “Tour Is a Four Letter Word” singer-songwriter Jason Mraz took his musicians and crew to Cirque du Soleil’s “Mystere” at Treasure Island. After the performance, Mraz posed for photographs backstage with the artists of the show. Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno took a break from his show this week and took his incredible talents to ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” for a performance that was nothing short of spectacular! The singer performed his own single “Tangerine Honey” and Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Real Wild Child” as pro dancer Lacey Schwimmer and her actor partner Kyle Massey, both of whom starred in “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Vegas” at the Tropicana danced in the background. Wild and wacky red-headed prop comic and Luxor headliner Carrot Top flew in for the show to support his friend Frankie. “Tangerine Honey” is one of the songs, Moreno performs at each show at the Stratosphere and it’s a highlight of his new album. The song is always played at length, but on Tuesday Moreno was given only 90 seconds to perform a verse and chorus. He and the band were only able to go through the song twice before the live show but you would have never known it! As usual, Frankie impressed with his spot on vocals and showy stage presence, which included him playing the piano backwards while sitting on top of it! The audience seemed more excited about his performance than the results show! For a chance to see Moreno perform “Tangerine Honey” live at his show at the Stratosphere, look for discounted tickets right here on Best of Vegas. That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with this weekend’s celebrity preview. Las Vegas, NV 10/11/12
