Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers kick off NBA preseason at Tao

Athletes, singers, actors, oh my! Las Vegas was its usual bustling self this past weekend as celebrities hit the Strip for preseason celebrations, birthday parties, charity golf tournaments and some good old-fashioned Vegas fun! Here’s this weekend’s celebrity recap:

NBA star Chris Paul and his Los Angeles Clippers teammates kicked off their preseason in Las Vegas over the weekend with a huge party at Tao in the Venetian on Friday night.

The celebration began with dinner at Tao as Paul’s team members including Lamar Odom, Grant Hill, Chauncey Billups, Matt Barnes and Blake Griffin joined him. After a filling dinner, the NBA stars headed to the nightclub where they took over a group of VIP tables on the dance floor. Paul immediately kicked off the party by surprising his teammate Grant Hill with a birthday cake for his 40th birthday. As the athlete was presented with his cake the entire club joined his teammates in singing Happy Birthday to the star.

And that was just the start of the cake fun. Later in the evening, another cake was presented to the Clippers team that had the term “All I Do Is Win” written on it. Blake Griffin even showed of his ball basketball skills by spinning the ball on his finger while dancing on the dance floor. Paul and his teammates danced and partied until 2 a.m. before retiring to their hotel to rest up for their first pre-season game against the Denver Nuggets at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, actor Colin Hanks and his wife and friends partied at Marquee in the Cosmopolitan. The oldest son of actor Tom Hanks and his group took over a VIP table on the roof deck patio of the nightclub.

Also on Friday night, Albie and Chris Manzo from The Real Housewives of New Jersey hosted Lavo’s Stereo Saturdays in celebration of their bottled drinks, BLK Water. The two reality TV stars posed for photos on the red carpet before heading into the Las Vegas nightclub where they were joined by their uncle and fellow The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Chris Laurita.

On Saturday, Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin welcomed George Lopez, Greg Maddux, Roland “Rollie” Fingers and Rich “Goose” Goosage. While in town Lopez partied on the outdoor patio at Ghostbar in the Palms.

Miss USA 1995 Shanna Moakler dined at Stack in the Mirage and then partied at 1 OAK, where singer Ryan Cabrera was with friends. “Twilight” actress Christian Serratos celebrated her 22nd birthday at Vanity in the Hard Rock Hotel and Chili of TLC, Rozonda Thomas, and a friend enjoyed the studly men of Thunder From Down Under at the Excalibur.

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. Check back tomorrow for lots more!
