Criss Angel, Cirque du Soleil Laud Believe's 4th Anniversary
|
Among the many sexy and scary costume parties that will no doubt dominate Las Vegas nightclubs tomorrow night, there will be at least one Las Vegas show offering its own festive celebration that promises to be just as entertaining. Magician of the Century Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil will be celebrating the 4th anniversary of their spectacular illusion show “Believe” at the Luxor.
To celebrate the anniversary BestofVegas.com is offering a free double upgrade to category 2 seats (Save $45) through Nov. 21st and a free upgrade to category 2 seats for select performances now through December 15th. Since “Believe” hit the Strip on Oct. 31 2008, the show has mesmerized audiences with a show that capsulates the mystics of the Magician of the Century within the enchanting world of a Cirque du Soleil atmosphere. Needless to say, the collaboration is a visual masterpiece and a labor of love that has evolved throughout the years. Criss and Cirque worked tirelessly to renew the production with brand new acts that will have every magic enthusiast satisfied and theatrics only Cirque du Soleil can reproduce. The result has been a fascinating new show that you have to see to “believe!”
In an interview for his 3rd anniversary, Angel revealed he was working on a new illusion for the Las Vegas show that included a brand new levitation experience. With that new illusion firmly in place, Angel now has over 40 mind-blowing tricks, some of which he made famous on his show “Mindfreak” and some that are traditional illusions with a Criss Angel twist. The Toronto Star has said of the revamped show, “Absolutely knockout illusions…Heart-stoppingly exciting” and Siegfried and Roy gave it this fantastic praise, “Greatness is he who reminds of you no other, such a man is Criss Angel.”
To make the illusions all the more mind-blowing, the Luxor theater where “Believe” is housed offers a macabre atmosphere with gothic accents reminiscent of old-fashioned circuses and carnivals, a touch Cirque du Soleil was no doubt in charge of as was the incredible costumes. The dark atmosphere continues on stage as brilliant dancers are dressed in head-to-toe Victorian costumes to really bring the entire slightly morbid feel together.
