Family Fridays: Carnevale at the Venetian, Mese di Musica

The Venetian and the Palazzo’s annual summer celebration Carnevale, which celebrates the discovery, taste, and fun of Italy has been luring in art enthusiasts, wine connoisseurs, musicians and even families for the past month for an exploration into the rich and exciting culture of Italy. And this July, you and the family can continue the excitement with Carnevale’s concerts, parades, light shows, wacky acts, and other family-friendly festivities.

This month, Carnevale celebrates the art of music with Mese di Musica. This month long event will let you listen to the beautiful sounds of musicians and vocalists during a spectacular concert series is held daily in The Venetian Showroom and outdoor stage near the gondolas. Get ready to hear the most amazing music you have ever heard as Mese di Musica takes over the event.

Children will also be able to enjoy carnevale events designed specifically for them including face painting and a balloon artists from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day at the Palazzo Waterfall Atrium

In addition to the music and children’s activities, Carnevale includes other daily festivities the entire family can enjoy. At 8 p.m. on every evening through Sept. 9, Carnevale features an electric parade complete with courtesans, stilt walkers, bicyclists, jugglers, and other enthusiastic performers. The parade starts at The Palazzo Theater and continues onto the Palazzo casino floor, past the Waterfall Atrium & Gardens into The Venetian casino and ends at the Grand Colonnade onto Doge’s Palace.

After the parade, make sure you stay put at Doge’s Palace and watch as the Venetian’s iconic clock tower is illuminated in an impressive 3D light performance. The Light of Venice show is held at 9:15 p.m., 10:15 p.m., 11:15 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. nightly.

Your kids are sure to love the many costumed performers including stilt walkers and jugglers who perform throughout the day in the The Palazzo Waterfall and Atrium & Gardens area. There are also roaming stilt walkers covered in foliage and flowers that wander throughout the area, snapping photos with guests and keeping the crowd well entertained.

And speaking of excellent family entertainment, beginning July 19 through July 21 and July 26 through July 28, the Flying Karamozov Brothers’ 4 Play will take over the Venetian Showroom for a wildly entertaining show you won’t forget.

The wacky act is filled with the group’s impressive juggling acts, comedy and wild theatrics that have taken them from Broadway to the big screen.

If you’re bringing your family to Vegas this July, make sure to stop by or stay at the Venetian or the Palazzo to enjoy tons of family-friendly and Italy-inspired Carnevale events.
