It was a (Strip) star-studded event at the grand opening of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria at The Shoppes at The Palazzo on Sunday when the cast of ‘Murray Celebrity Magician’ at the Tropicana welcomed the pizzeria to town. Murray SawChuck, Douglas “Lefty” Leferovic and Chloe Louise all walked the grand opening red carpet as did Zowie Bowie and the sexy men of Chippendales at the Rio. The grand opening festivities kicked off with CEO and President Joey Ciollo cutting into a ceremonial pizza with a golden pizza cutter and taking his first bite. The Strip stars and other guest were also treated to performances by award-winning pizza tossers (yes, apparently that’s a thing) and listened to Ol’ Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra as his songs blasted through the new restaurant while guests enjoyed the coal-fired pizzas and mini cannolis. Amore! In other Las Vegas celebrity news, Soundwaves at Hard Rock Hotel welcomed SRH Fest 2012 featuring Kottonmouth Kings on Friday. The group sang their rap songs “Tangerine Sky,” “King Klick” and more for a performance that was full of energy. On Saturday, headliner NOFX joined the party performing their punk hits “Linoleum,” “Stickin In My Eye” and “Dinosaurs Will Die.” Actress and producer Vivica A. Fox celebrated her 48th birthday on Tuesday night at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms. The “Kill Bill” star was joined by ten friends for dinner at the popular Las Vegas restaurant. After the meal, like many other celebrities that dine at N9NE, Fox and friends went into the kitchen to sign Executive Chef Barry Dakake’s shakedown door and pose for photographs with the staff. Professional dancer and choreographer Chelsie Hightower is a special guest performer at Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas at the Tropicana. A veteran on the ABC hit Dancing With the Stars, Hightower will show off her moves through the show’s last performance on Sunday, August 5. In upcoming celebrity news, Society of Seven and American Idol star Jasmine Trias will bring an energetic show to the Riviera beginning on August 16. The show will take audiences on a musical journey from show tunes to today’s popular hits with plenty of laughter and dancing in between. Show times are Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. It’s never to early to start planning for the next holiday and this Labor Day you may want to plan to go to Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at the Paris to see recording artist, record producer, actor and entrepreneur Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs as he hosts “The Sexiest Party in the City.” That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with more. Las Vegas, NV 08/01/12
