Before I get in to the mass amount of celebrities who were in town both this weekend and this week I must first congratulate the hit burlesque Strip show Peepshow at Planet Hollywood on their 1,000 performance and three-year anniversary on Monday night! To celebrate the milestone, the show’s lead stars Holly Madison, Josh Strickland and Cheaza along with the rest of the cast and crew gathered onstage after the milestone show to present Jerry Mitchell, the show’s Tony Award winning director and choreographer with a personalized antique key and plaque. Holly and the rest of Peepshow’s crew enjoyed parfait-style treats in martini glasses from Sweet House Las Vegas. With the National Association of Broadcasters convention in town until Thursday it’s no surprise that the Strip has welcomed a slew of TV stars over the past few days including “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum who made a stop at the Excalibur to watch the sexy male revue Thunder From Down Under. Comedian and “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, who was in town for his standup at the Mirage, toured the John Lennon Educational Bus at the Las Vegas hotel and former TV host Larry King enjoyed breakfast at Society Café in Encore. CBS head honcho Les Moonves, his wife Julie Chen, singer-songwriter Carol Bayer Sager and her husband Bob Daly watched Elton John’s “The Million Dollar Piano” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Also taking in Elton’s show was TV legend Garry Marshall, Larry King and wife Shawn Southwick, comedian George Lopez and TV producer Nigel Lythgoe. Actress and choreographer Debbie Allen enjoyed the show of her dreams, “Le Reve – the Dream” at the Wynn. La Freak debuted at Lavo in the Palazzo with DJ Homicide. Sugar Ray front man Mark McGrath was at Tao in the Venetian for a bachelor party. Also at Tao was actor Joe Mazzello, producer Bryan Singer and producer and chorographer Adam Shankman. And partying at Marquee in the Cosmopolitan was Ryan O’Byrne of the Colorado Avalanche. Also celebrating at Marquee was professional BMXrider Ricardo Laguna for his 30th birthday party in the Library section of the Las Vegas nightclub. Luxor headliner Criss Angel from Cirque du Soleil’s Believe was among the slew of celebrities that watched Mike Tyson’s new one-man show “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth – Live on Stage” at MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theater on Sunday. Also in the crowd were fellow boxer Evander Holyfield, actor Malik Williams, NBA legend Gary Payton and Las Vegas’ headliners Louie Anderson and Nathan Burton. That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today but check back tomorrow for more about Las Vegas at Best of Vegas.
