Las Vegas has been catering to sports stars, particularly NHL stars all week-long as they get ready for the NHL Awards tonight at Encore Theater in the Wynn. But they haven’t been the only ones hitting the Strip for some Vegas fun. Here’s who’s been partying and playing in The Entertainment Capital of the World so far this week: On Saturday, former NSYNC boy band member and current star of “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas” Joey Fatone and Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon partied at Hyde Bellagio inside the Bellagio. Fatone, who happily posed for photos with fans throughout his visit to the Las Vegas nightclub, Moon and friends enjoyed a private table that overlooked the Fountains of the Bellagio and partied until the early hours of Sunday morning. Caesars Palace headliner Celine Dion celebrated her 800th concert at The Colosseum yesterday. The Canadian songstress has been serenading the Caesars Palace audience since opening here on March 25, 2003 with the show “A New Day.” The NHL is certainly having a great time in The Entertainment Capital of the World this week. I told you Monday, the recent Stanley Cup Champions, the L.A. Kings celebrated their victory throughout Las Vegas nightclubs over the weekend and yesterday more NHL stars hit the Strip in advance of tonight’s televised 2012 NHL Awards at Encore Theater in the Wynn. Pavel Datsuk of the Detroit Red Wings, NY Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, Jordon Eberie of the Edmonton Oilers, Joffrey Lupul of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins from the Edmonton Oilers and John-Michael Liles of the Toronto Maple Leafs all enjoyed some track time when they visited Exotics Racing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway yesterday. Each got the chance to see how fast a Ferrari F430 GT really can go and learned about the speedy car from Dream racing owner and former pro driver Adriano de Michell. Stay tuned for more details on tonight’s awards show. In upcoming celebrity news, ventriloquist comedian Jeff Dunham continues his 100-city “Controlled Chaos” tour here for a one-night only show on Friday, June 22 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Dunham will bring his famed puppets including Walter the grumpy retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-fueled redneck Bubba J, Peanut, the almost dead son of Achmed, A.J., Jose Jalapeno the spicy pepper from South of the Border and Peanut’s ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of Peanut to the stage for a night of non-stop laughter. That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with plenty more. Las Vegas, NV 06/20/12
