Jerry Seinfeld Making Laughs at Caesars Palace this Weekend
|
There is no end to Caesars Palace’s incredible entertainment lineup. From world-renowned singers including Celine Dion and Sir Elton John to wild new shows like Absinthe, Caesars Palace could alone carry the title for Entertainment Capital of the World. And this weekend, the Las Vegas hotel will be adding comedy to the list of entertainment options as Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jerry Seinfeld brings the laughs to the Colosseum stage Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21.
The former television star is no novice when it comes to entertaining on the stage. Prior to his run on the hit NBC comedy series “Seinfeld” Jerry was cracking up audiences with his observational humor and dry wit across The Big Apple. After graduating from Queens College in 1976, the comedian immediately hit the stand-up scene, hitting comedy club circuits in New York. But it wasn’t until 5 years later that Seinfeld got the big break he was looking for when he appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. Appearances on “Late Night with David Letterman” and “The Merv Griffin Show” followed and soon just the name “Seinfeld” had people laughing.
Just eight years after wowing the audience and Johnny Carson, Seinfeld teamed up with fellow comedian and friend Larry David to create “Seinfeld Chronicles.” With Seinfeld and the rest of the cast’s hilarious antics that kept America laughing week after week “Seinfeld” quickly became one of the greatest and funniest television shows ever created. And the proof is in the numerous awards it won over its nine-year span including the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1993 and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 1995, 1997 and 1998.
After experiencing more success then he ever dreamed possible on television, Jerry returned to his comedic roots bringing his hilarious stand-up back to the stage, with all new material and shows across the country. In 2007, Seinfeld took his writing skills to the big screen, writing and producing DreamWorks animated film “Bee Movie,” in which he was also the voice of the movie’s main character. He also reunited with his “Seinfeld” cast members on the seventh season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” And now you can catch Seinfeld live on stage doing what he does best, making audiences laugh Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21.
