Katy Perry Performs at President Obama's Rally in Las Vegas

Las Vegas welcomed President Barack Obama yesterday when he spoke to a crowd of about 13,000 supporters at a political rally at Doolittle Park The campaign event was one stop in a two-day blitz in which the President will visit eight states. During the event singer Katy Perry performed and congresswoman Shelley Berkley also spoke at the event.
In other celebrity news, future Caesars Palace headliner Shania Twain took in the early performance of Mystere at Treasure Island on Wednesday. Twain, who is in town gearing up for her new show beginning in December watched the show with her husband Frederic Thiebaud, their children and some friends.
98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons was spotted at LBS Burger inside the Red Rock Resort on Tuesday.
On Monday, NHL player Sean Avery hosted the official Glaad #spiritday party, speaking against bullying and showing support for LGBT at Marquee inside the Cosmopolitan. Avery first enjoyed dinner at Tao before heading to Marquee where he held a private party in the club’s Boom Box Room as the crowd watched the Strip turn purple at 10 p.m. Miss Nevada 2012 Randi Sundquist also joined the party in the Boom Box Room.
During the event, Marquee Cares, the charitable arm of Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub donated a portion of proceeds from all table sales for the night and 100% of pre-sale tickets to GLAD and Flip the Script.
The Cosmopolitan encouraged all guests to show their Spirit Day support, offering complimentary entrance and an open bar to all partygoers who wore purple, the color chose to support those who lost their lives during bullying.
In upcoming celebrity news, adorable country couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are set to preview their Venetian headlining residency at Nov. 1st’s 46th Annual CMA Awards from Nashville on ABC. Meantime Garth Brooks will end his residency at Wynn Las Vegas on Nov. 17.
Winter in Venice will return to the Venetian and the Palazzo this Nov. 18 through Jan. 6. The festive Italian-inspired holiday event will include an ice-skating rink above the Venetian’s outdoor Grand Canal, a nightly parade of characters and lights, a six-week run of “Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Las Vegas,” a fantasy scene in the Palazzo’s waterfall gardens with 20-foot trees and crystal “ice ponds,” 3D light projection shows on both hotel’s facades and chefs from 30 Las Vegas restaurants competing against one another for the Golden Spoon Award. Chefs include Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich and Sammy Demarco.
