Milkshakes, music and birthdays sum up this weekend in The Entertainment Capital of the World with both Kelis and Kelly Clarkson putting on top-notch concerts. If you missed it here’s who was in town and what kind of Sin City fun they got into: Her milkshake certainly brought all of the boys (and girls) to the yard on Friday night when singer-songwriter Kelis took over Tryst Nightclub at the Wynn for a special performance at the Las Vegas hotspot. Shortly after midnight the R&B singer walked Tryst’s red carpet posing for photos and waving at fans. Just like her songs, Kelis hit the stage with such an energy that kept the crowd going until after 1 a.m. And just as Kellis showed off her vocals, “American Idol” Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson was performing a 70-minute set at the Cosmopolitan that was just as entertaining. Clarkson was full of energy as she belted out hit after hit, showing off her versatile voice along the way. She even included a few cover songs into her set including “We Are Young” and Britney Spears’ “Everytime.” After finishing her performance with the song that launched her to stardom, “Since You’ve Been Gone,” Clarkson was applauded back onstage for a 4-song encore that included “Because of You,” ”Mr. Know It All,” and “Miss Independent.” Prior to her performance, Clarkson enjoyed some fun in the sun at Marquee Dayclub on Thursday. She was joined by her boyfriend Brandon Blackstack and members of her band. The group enjoyed the day in one of Marquee’s Grand Cabanas. In other non-concert celebrity news, reality TV star and the youngest of the Kardashian klan, Rob Kardashian was spotted dining with a friend at Lavo in the Palazzo on Friday night. The star, who never shies away from his fans, graciously took photos with fans that approached his table. Also at Lavo on Friday was former NFL star Jerry Rice who took in dinner at Tao in the Venetian and then partied at Lavo for La Freak Fridays. Rice was in town celebrating his son, Jerry Rice Jr.’s 21st birthday. That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. I’ll be back tomorrow for more.
