If anybody ever doubted Madonna was the Queen of Pop they were proven wrong this past weekend when the multi-talented and controversial singer brought her 2012 MDNA Tour to MGM Grand Garden Arena for two sold out shows.

As you’d expect Madonna’s performances were full of energetic dance routines, eye-popping costumes, over-the-top stunts, props and her emotionally charged music. A few highlights from Saturday’s show included Madonna twirling a baton and drummers suspended high above the stage during “Give Me All Your Luvin;” five choreographed contortionists during “Best Friend/Heartbeat;” a slowed down sexy “Like a Virgin” with a piano accompaniment; and an uplifting “Like a Prayer” with a full choir of course!

French electronic music DJ and producer Martin Solveig served as the opening act for Madonna and spun and sang for about an hour before Madonna was set to begin her show (she didn’t actually take the stage until about 40 minutes after Solveig ended his performance.)

Solveig’s set list included: “Music,” “Ready 2 Go,” “Into the Groove,” “Titanium,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Beautiful Killer,” “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” “Like I Love You,” “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Funky Town,” “Nigg*s in Paris,” “Feel So Close” “L-U-V, Madonna, Y-O-U, you wanna?”; “Love Spent,” “In My Mind,” his new song “The Night Out,” “We Are Young” and “Hello.”

In other celebrity news, reality TV star, momtrepreeneur and Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner made her first solo appearance at the family boutique Kardashian Khaos in the Mirage on Saturday for a book signing and fan meet-and-greet for her recent memoir “Kris Jenner… and All Things Kardashian.”

Meanwhile, R&B singer Ginuwine celebrated his 42nd birthday with hosting duties and a performance at LAX in the Luxor. The singer arrived around 1 a.m. and his entourage made their way to a VIP table on the main stage.

Later in the evening a group of cocktail servers presented Ginuwine with a two-tiered, black-and-silver birthday cake that was decorated with music notes.  Around 2 a.m., Ginuwine’s official DJ Fellin got on the mic to introduce the singer.

He performed “Hell Yeah,” “Same Ol’ G,” “So Anxious” and “In Those Jeans.” Party-goers sang “Happy Birthday” to him before he ended his performance with the hit song “Pony.” Ginuwine then posed for photographs with fans in his VIP booth and spent the rest of the night partying with friends.
