It’s always a big deal and a big celebrity draw when a boxing match comes to The Entertainment Capital of the World. But when you throw in Cinco de Mayo and the opening of pool season to the mix, Las Vegas turns into the most exciting place to be for the next 72 hours! Here are all the punches, parties, and pools you don’t want to miss: Tonight is a night of returns as Sir Elton John begins the knockout weekend with another run of “The Million-Dollar Piano” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace through May 20. Kevin James and Ray Romano bring the laughs back to the Mirage for two nights while Tim Allen returns to the Venetian for two nights. As for clubs tonight, Flo Rida performs Live at Rain Nightclub at the Palms, and Nadia Ali performs at Marquee in the Cosmopolitan. Then, on Saturday the fun really begins as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto fight it out for the super welterweight world title at MGM Grand Garden Arena. But it’s the Cinco de Mayo festivities that are sure to be the highlight of the weekend. Cinco de Mayo has hit its150th anniversary this year, so you can expect festivities to be huge this weekend. Get ready for P Diddy, Nelly, and Common to name a few of the celebrities in Las Vegas this weekend. Here are the best Cinco de Mayo events you can expect: The wild and oh-so popular Senor Frogs will host a grand opening Cinco de Mayo party at Treasure Island, and Carlos’n Charlie’s is throwing their inaugural Cinco de Mayo party at the Flamingo. At Mandalay Bay, “Extra” host Maria Menounos will launch Bud Light’s “Lime-a-Rita.” While, “Chelsea Lately” sidekick Chuy Bravo will throw a fiesta at Las Vegas nightclub Pure in Caesars Palace, and “Fantasy” at the Luxor star Lorena Peril will be celebrating the day at Tacos & Tequilas. Celebrities partying on the Strip include Sean Diddy Combs, who hosts the big-fight after-party at Rain. DJ Tiesto spins at XS in Steve Wynn’s Encore. Nelly hosts Fight Night at Haze in Aria. Common hosts at The Bank in the Bellagio and Jermaine Dupri is at Tyst in the Wynn. Tao Beach celebrates is summer season with Stacy Keibler, Krysten Ritter and Jessica Szohr, plus DJs Q-Tip and Samantha Ronson.
