Mike Tyson Holding Fundraiser at Tabu at MGM Grand Las Vegas
Legendary world heavyweight boxer and recent movie star Mike Tyson is certainly in the giving spirit this holiday season. The champion recently launched his charity, Mike Tyson Cares Foundation, whose mission is to “give kids a fighting chance” by offering centers that provide the needs for children from broken homes. And as with any new charity there will be a star-studded gala at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand on Dec. 7. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Shade Tree Foundation and Awakenings, both of which benefit needy and at-risk children in the Las Vegas area.

“I am very proud to launch Mike Tyson Cares Foundation,” said Tyson. “I want my legacy to be about charity and helping children. This is my start.”

Stay tuned for more details on this charity event.

Mike Tyson isn’t the only celebrity hitting the Strip this holiday season. It’s not even December yet but already we have a huge list of famous faces that will celebrate the season in The Entertainment Capital of the World. Here’s who you can look forward to see playing and partying in Sin City this month:

The Beau Hodges will perform at House of Blues inside Crossroads at Mandalay Bay on Thursday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 9 through Thursday, Dec. 13. The band will perform two shows nightly with an acoustic performance in the early show and a full plugged in band ready to rock guests for late night party-goers.

Recording artist 2 Chainz will end 2012 with a live performance at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at the Paris on Monday, Dec. 31. The hip-hop star will host the New Year’s Eve party under the Eiffel Tower as the club celebrates the New Year with champagne toasts, party favors and plenty of music.

And speaking of New Year’s Eve, the Cosmopolitan will welcome several different performers to celebrate the New Year including Jennifer Keith Quintet at 8:00 p.m at The Chandelier, The Killers with Louis XIV and Most Thieves perform at 9:00 at The Chelsea, ATB hits the stage at Marquee Nightclub at 9:30, Aloe Blaac is at Book Stage at 10:30 and Toro y Moi DJ Set is at Bond from 12:00 – 1:30 a.m. all on Friday, Dec. 28. Stay tuned for more of the Cosmopolitan’s New Year’s Eve Weekend lineup as we get closer to the holiday.

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. Keep checking back periodically for more December celebrities and New Year’s Eve festivities.
