Planet Hollywood Las Vegas wants Britney Spears Residency Show
The rumors of Britney Spears striking a deal with Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas are getting more substantial, as a spokesman from Caesars said Planet Hollywood Resort is “actively” in discussions with Britney’s representation. But there may be another Las Vegas Hotel group vying for Britney as well, rumors have it that Caesars Entertainment isn’t the only one. Either way, Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, stated that nothing has been signed, but he feels strongly that Britney will have a show in Las Vegas, as soon as all the negotiations are finished. So, when can you expect the show to open? It will most probably be after Britney releases her new album by the end of the year. We’ll let you know the latest Las Vegas news, as it’s confirmed.

In other Vegas news, it may be another big weekend in L.A. with the 55th Annual Grammy Awards but it doesn’t mean Las Vegas won’t still have some big musical acts, celebrity parties and hilarious comedians hitting the Strip all weekend long. Here is this weekend’s celebrity preview:

What better way to end a long week then with legendary crooner Rod Stewart? The “Some Guys Have All the Luck” singer returns to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with his residency, Rod Stewart: The Hits for two nights this weekend. Meanwhile fellow legendary band The Who with guest Vintage Trouble will be rocking The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.

It’s another weekend of laughs from some of the biggest names in the industry. The Entertainment Capital of the World earns that moniker tonight with “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno as he brings his quick wit to the Mirage stage while Craig Ferguson makes ‘em laugh all weekend long at the Venetian for two nights.

Rugby fans can watch the USA Sevens Rugby all weekend at Sam Boyd Stadium and still enjoy some of Las Vegas’ finest entertainment as dance troupe Jabbawockeez and the newest Strip production “Million Dollar Quartet” entertain on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Tonight’s celebrity partiers include David Guetta at XS in Steve Wynn’s Encore, Lil Jon at Surrender in Encore and the USA Sevens Rugby After-Party is at Haze in Aria.

Tomorrow, former “King of Queens” star Kevin James brings his comedy to the Mirage while Bille Bellamy is at Suncoast Showroom and Mark Normand is at Palace Station.

The party continues Saturday night when Far East Movement performs at Pure in Caesars Palace, San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick hosts at Haze in Aria, Avicii is at XS, Eric Prydz is at Surrender and once again the USA Sevens Rugby Team will celebrate one more successful day with the After-Party at 1OAK in the Mirage.

Sunday Funday will certainly be a little slower here than usual as the stars will be at the Grammys but you’ll still get your fair share of celebrity sightings with the USA Sevens Rugby After-Party at The Bank in the Bellagio and Evitan featuring Dres of Black Sheep and Jarobi of A tribe Called Quest are at Body English.

Cirque du Soleil cast members of “Ka” at MGM Grand will also host a Chinese New Year parade at the Las Vegas hotel to mark the show’s eighth year and the holiday. There will also be tons of Chinese New Year festivities throughout the Strip including parades, lion dances and snake displays. Check out my “What’s Hot” blog for more Chinese New Year festivities.

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you right back here on Monday.
