Ringo Starr is picking up his drumsticks again, for a fall tour across the United States. But, before Starr and his All-Starr band hit the highways to play their music, they are kicking off an eight-night residency at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, beginning October 13 and ending October 28, 2017.
The former Beatles drummer’s All-Starr Band is, as the name suggestions, filled with stars. Joining Starr on stage is instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Todd Rundgren, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, Richard Page of Mr. Mister fame, Gregg Bissonette from Santana and Warren Ham, who is a well-known vocalist/saxophonist/flutist.
The All-Starr band has been touring together since 2012, and after hinting last year of wanting a residency in Sin City, Starr got his wish this year with this limited-time engagement. Starr, who will be 77 by the time the residency begins, is still going strong, saying in a release: "The dream is still unfolding. I love to play, and I love to play with this band. I can’t say that enough, and we’re on the road again.”
In addition to some Beatles classics, fans will be treated to his solo tunes – and perhaps even some new music. Expect to hear familiar hits like “Yellow Submarine” and “Africa,” while also getting a mixture of Starr on the mic and on the drums. One thing’s for sure: This man is a “Starr.”
Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band will only be at Planet Hollywood for eight nights, so don’t miss out on this exclusive opportunity to see this living legend perform on one of Vegas’ biggest stages.
