Rock of Ages Comes to Las Vegas at the Venetian

It’s a Merry Christmas indeed for the Venetian Las Vegas. Not two weeks ago the Las Vegas hotel welcomed country superstar couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw for their new residency Soul2Soul and tomorrow, the Venetian will rock and party its way into the New Year with the long-running Broadway musical, “Rock of Ages.” And with one-day left before you don your acid wash jeans, big hair and parachute pants I have to ask, are you ready to rock? Of course you are, you’ve been waiting for this day since 1990.

Since its premiere in 2005 in L.A. and move to off-Broadway in 2008 and onto Broadway in 2009, “Rock of Ages” has received a whopping five Tony nominations. It actually made a stop here at the Flamingo in 2006 and won rave reviews with sold-out shows in Toronto in 2012 and London and Australia in 2011.

It’s been such a huge success it even spawned a movie version with some big names including Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julianne Hough. But there is nothing like the live stage production, which will make you feel like you’re actually in the famous Bourbon Room as energetic actors sing and dance their hearts out around you.

And you to will be singing and dancing in your seats and the aisles as power ballads, heavy metal hits, and the most popular rock songs of the decade including Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Here I Go Again,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Nothin’ But a Good Time, “Renegade,” “The Final Countdown” and much more are blasted from the stage.

The story isn’t anything you haven’t already heard before, boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, experience a few bumps along the love road and ultimately live happily ever after. But it all takes place in the ‘80’s on the Sunset Strip and in such a manner that it’ll be hard not to have an awesome night.

After rocking all night long, keep the party going at the Venetian’s own Bourbon Room where you’ll get a backstage pass to the hottest scene in Vegas with resident VJ’s pumping out even more feel good tunes and music videos. As you choose from a menu of 60 different kinds of bourbons, leather and lace-clad cocktail servers will dance to iconic ‘80’s songs like “I Love Rock n’ Roll,” “Shook Me All Night Long” and more.

For a chance to rock your way back to the 1980’s don’t miss “Rock of Ages” debut performance tomorrow night at the Venetian with discounted tickets right here on Best of Vegas.
