Rock Out with The Who in Las Vegas this August

The Who in Las Vegas

Get ready, Las Vegas! Legendary band The Who takes over Caesars Palace this August for a series of rockin’ shows you don’t want to miss. Their first performance began July 29. Other scheduled dates include August 1, 4, 7, 9 and 11.

The Who, who were formed in 1964 by singer Roger Daltry, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon, rose to fame win the UK with a series of top 10 hit singles. Their albums My Generation, A Quick One and The Who Sell Out followed.

Moon died in 1978, after which the band released two studio albums, Face Dances and It’s Hard, with new drummer Kenney Jones. They disbanded in 1983, reuniting at reunion tours like their 25th anniversary tour in 1989 and the Quadrophenia tours of 1996 and 1997.

The Who have sold about 100 million records and have earned 18 Gold, 12 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the U.S. alone. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. The band received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Phonographic Industry in 1988 and from the Grammy Foundation in 2001.

Despite the fact that some legendary artists have performed in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace including Elton John and Rod Stewart, The Who will be the first rock band to play at the venue since its opening in 2003.
