Rumors Celine Dion will invite Ne-Yo on the Colosseum Stage

It is much to my delight to report that Las Vegas’ favorite headliner and Canadian songstress Celine Dion returned to her chart-topping residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace over the weekend. And this weekend was just the start of a 36-show run she has planned throughout the summer months.

After a throat infection that weakened her right vocal chord temporarily, Celine was forced to cancel several shows back in February and March. Her L.A. throat experts ordered the singer to stop using her voice for two months until she made a full recovery. And that recovery came on Saturday when Celine stepped back onto the Caesars Palace stage for a performance that was just as magnificent as we remembered, maybe even more so.

It had everything that has made her show one of the most successful of all times – a 31-piece orchestra and band, Celine’s biggest hits from her decades long career, dazzling wardrobe changes, a stunning set, and some changes. Believe it or not, Celine’s throat problems and subsequent absence may have actually made her show even more spectacular.

On Saturday, Celine unveiled a new song, her version of Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep” and if you love Adele’s soulful way of performing the song, you won’t believe Celine’s rendition. And while I’m loving her newest song addition, I’m also sad to see that Celine had chosen to remove the Jackson medley in order to make room for Adele’s hit. But I think it may have been worth it!

In addition to touching up her show and continuing to wow us on stage, Celine has also jumped right back in to her work in the studio. The powerful singer is currently working on releasing not one, but two studio albums for later this year. The first, which was supposed to be released in April will be recorded in English and will include several Caesars Palace favorites, including Journey’s “Open Arms” and the Jacques Brel classic “Ne Me Quitte Pas (If You Go Away).” The second will be a French-language collection and is set to be released in October.

Celine’s new English album “Water and a Flame” will also incorporate hometown hero and hit musician Ne-Yo for a duet on “It’s Incredible.” To celebrate their union, rumor has it that Ne-Yo and Celine will surprise one lucky audience member one night with a live version during Celine’s run of shows! If you’re interested in seeing if this rumor pans out look for discounted Celine Dion tickets right here on Best of Vegas.

You can catch Celine’s fabulous show throughout June including June 12th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 27th, 30th as well as several other dates throughout July and August.
