Susan Boyle Fulfills Lifelong Dream of Singing with Donny Osmond

On Tuesday night “Britain’s Got Talent” star Susan Boyle joined our own Donny Osmond from Donny & Marie at the Flamingo for a special and powerful duet during ABC’s hit show “Dancing With the Stars.”

During the emotional performance, Donny wrapped his arm around Susan’s shoulder to steady the visibly nervous singer as the two belt out “This Is the Moment” from the musical Jekyll & Hyde. Millions of viewers tuned in coast to coast to watch the spectacular duo and on Wednesday a smaller audience at Donny & Marie Osmond’s theater in the Flamingo got to see the pair one more time as they once again performed “This is the Moment” during Donny & Marie’s show. Susan also performed a solo of “Who I Was Born To Be.” Susan’s performance fulfilled two lifelong dreams including performing in Las Vegas (the show marked her first-ever performance in The Entertainment Capital of the World) and to sing with one of her all-time idols, Donny Osmond.

You can also hear Donny and Susan performing together on her new album Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs From the Stage. Donny performs two tracks “All I Ask of You” from “Phantom of the Opera” and “This Is the Moment.”

Susan said of working with Donny, “Recording with Donny on two songs was a dream come true. Working with him was awesome, and I learned so much from him as a performer and a person. Being in the studio with him was without doubt the best day ever -- it wasn’t work!”

In other celebrity news, reality TV star Buddy Valestro of “Cake Boss” was here filming a segment of the baking competition “The Next Great Baker” at the Little White Wedding Chapel with the Rev. Charlotte Richards.

The competition’s two finalists, two Las Vegas showgirls and the Rev. Jesse Garon, cruised the Strip in a 1955 pink Cadillac convertible to party at Gallery Nightclub in Planet Hollywood. They certainly enjoyed the Las Vegas nightclub, staying until 3:30 in the morning before finally returning to their suites in the Venetian.

And speaking of reality TV stars in Vegas, cast members of “Vegas High Rollers” attended Stripper 101 classes at Miracle Mile Shops also in Planet Hollywood.

Sharp-tongued comedian Rita Rudner brought her hilarious stand-up to the Venetian Showroom last night for a one-night only show. The clever comedian will return to Las Vegas on Monday, Oct. 22

That’s all of the celebrity news I have for today. Check back tomorrow for this weekend’s celebrity preview.
