The brothel’s owner miss Mona Stangley and the local sheriff, who just happens to be a regular visitor to the brothel, set out to stop the reporter from closing down what became one of Texas’s most famous institutions. What ensues is a sexy, fun and romantic love story that you wouldn’t expect from the production’s title.

Prior to its run at The Plaza Showroom, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas enjoyed great acclaim on Broadway winning several Tony Awards including one for Best Musical. In 1982, the musical was even turned into a film that featured Dolly Parton as Mona Stangley and Burt Reynolds as Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd.

This also isn’t the first time the musical has come to Las Vegas. Also in 1982, the Desert Inn Las Vegas hosted a production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and in 2002
the musical returned to Las Vegas briefly when a tour stopped at the Aladdin, with Ann-Margret playing madam Mona.
