Tour a Gangster’s Life at Mob Attraction Las Vegas Tropicana
Las Vegas has long been the site for mob movies and TV shows. You’ve seen the Las Vegas gangsters appear in such famous TV series as Martin Scorsese’s Broadway Empire and there’re films about notorious mobsters like Bugsy Siegel in the movie “Bugsy.” And now Las Vegas is opening up about its historical mobster pass with a tour that’ll have you swimming with the fishes in The Las Vegas Mob Attraction at the Tropicana.

Using authentic artifacts, new technology, and storytelling; this interactive attraction chronicles the rise and fall of organized crime in Las Vegas. Guests will be able to meet “family members” of a number of the men and women who helped shaped Las Vegas decades ago. You’ll even interact with some famous mob movie icons that come to life in the form of 3D holograms.

Your insiders look into the Las Vegas mob begins as you enter through a re-created Ellis Island immigration office. It’s there that two FBI agents question you about your knowledge and possible links to “da boyz” before finally letting you go to start the walking tour.

You’re then greeted by actor James Caan (The Godfather Part 1 and Part II) or his hologram rather as he guides you through the attraction’s many rooms and 1,500 artifacts from the organized crime era. Caan is just one of the celebrity guides who appears in hologram form. Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, The Sopranos, Casino), Mickey Rourke, Steve Schirripa and Tony Sirico all have continuing roles in the attraction in the form of technological apparitions to serve as virtual celebrity gangster guides.

As for the real mobsters, guests will get a never before seen look into the private lives of such famous gangsters as Ben “Bugsy” Siegel, Meyer Lansky, Tony Spilotro and many more. Memorabilia, photos and videos of these notorious organized crime figures are scattered throughout the attraction and offer a glimpse into their life both on the streets of Vegas and at home with their wives and children.

The Las Vegas Mob Tour even puts you right in the middle of the mob action when you’re suddenly whacked down in a hail of bullet around the halfway point of the tour. The special affect is so lifelike it feels like you’re on the set of Goodfellas as sounds of gunfire with puffs of smoke fill the air. The room goes black once the hit has been completed in the 20,000 square-foot space at the Tropicana’s former Sports Pavilion, which once housed the only indoor tennis courts for Mob figures in the city. Really, the Tropicana couldn’t be a better match for the Mob Attraction, as you’ll learn in the tour the Tropicana was once a mob-activity heavy hotel.
