Zombies Roam the Strip in Evil Dead – The Musical
|
Some nights it might feel like the Strip is filled with zombies as partygoers lurch home after a night of exploring Vegas’ famous nightlife. But while these people may be tired, I assure you there are no zombies that roam the streets of The Entertainment Capital of the World. Well, not the kind you may think anyway. Las Vegas’ newest show, Evil Dead – The Musical at David Saxe V Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood puts you smack dab in the middle of a zombie apocalypse but instead of running for your life, you’ll be singing and dancing in your seats to this hilarious, one-of-a-kind show.
Based on the 1981 Sam Raimi cult film classic “The Evil Dead,” Las Vegas’ production is just as evil except this show offers a 4D element that is to die for! You won’t believe the gore, humor, music and all-around entertainment that can come out of one Las Vegas production.
Evil Dead – The Musical begins as five college students venture into the woods where they set up camp in an abandoned cabin. In doing so, they accidentally and unknowingly release evil forces that turn them all into demons. And that’s where the horrifying fun begins. Combining elements from the three “Evil Dead” films as well as bloody special effects, hilarious songs and dancing demons, Evil Dead – The Musical is more than just a Las Vegas show, it is thrilling theatre!
A highlight of the production is the show’s main character, Ash, a house wares employee at S-Mart who loves nothing more than to fire up his chainsaw and seek vengeance on the evil demons. And as he does, the entire audience will feel his wrath as limbs fly and blood splatters the audience. Evil Dead – The Musical is the only show in Vegas that has a Splatter Zone and yes, there will be blood if you sit in the first three rows. But don’t let this stop you from enjoying the Splatter Zone. You’ll get a complimentary Evil Dead – The Musical T-shirt to wear during the show.
And while all this talk of blood, guts and gore may seem more horrifying than hilarious, rest assured the music that accompanies all of the evil is nothing short of hysterical. Songs like “What the F was that” and “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons,” are laced throughout Evil Dead – The musical and offer a dark sense of humor that’ll have you laughing to death.
