The Venetian is known mostly for its glistening waterways that wind in and out of the hotel and even right out onto the Strip. However, the beauty of Venice truly comes to life alongside the canal at the Grand Canal Shoppes. Cobblestone streets lead the way for designer shops that look exactly like the storefronts found in the bustling streets of Italy. With a partially lit man-made sky and singing gondoliers passing by, shoppers don’t just see—they feel the beauty of Venice!
Although the shops here are like none other, the main attraction at this mall is the atmosphere. “Streetmosphere” is the term used to describe the performers that frequent the shopping area. On any given day, shoppers will find statues that are actually trained mimes, there are also opera singers that frequent the streets dressed in luxurious Italian gowns. Violinists and, of course, the signing gondoliers will entertain adults and children alike.
Shops and restaurants line the narrow walkways that are almost taken over by the canal. Restaurants like Zeffirino offer balcony seating with views of the water below.
