LAVO

Located within the luxurious Palazzo Resort, LAVO is a triple threat – a nightclub, restaurant, and lounge, all in one. And celebrities love all three; they flock to LAVO to dine on the restaurant’s Mediterranean cuisine, they love dancing the night away in the Turkish basin-adorned nightclub, and they love lounging at the Moroccan tables of the lounge. You can’t blame them, either; with luxurious imported decor and top-notch service, LAVO is one of the hottest spots on the Strip.

LAVO, which is Latin for “to bathe” or “cleanse,” is the perfect place for celebrities and regular folk alike to wash away their worries and indulge in some fine dining and dancing. In cue with its name, the restaurant has been designed to resemble an ancient Mediterranean bathhouse. It features tile walls, plaster, water features, high wooden ceilings, and low hanging chandeliers for a classy but soothing environment. Equally comforting is the cuisine; a combination of France, Spain, and Italy’s best dishes, dining at LAVO is like taking a culinary journey. Celebrities like Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon love the food, which is meant to be sampled and shared with friends.

In the early evenings, the LAVO Lounge provides an ideal place to meet for a drink and a small bite to eat before hitting the club. Highlighted by a spectacular glass and wood-screened bridge and bordered by a carved stone wall, the lounge provides dramatic views of the Strip from the outdoor terrace.

On the weekends, stars come to LAVO for the dancing just as much as the food. Located on the second floor of the restaurant, you’ll enter the club after passing a bridge with more than a dozen Turkish water basins. The exotic theme is continued into the club, which features decorative elements imported all the way from Morocco. LAVO is one of the smaller clubs on the Strip, but this lends to an intimate atmosphere and a sense of community on the dance floor. It also draws a distinctly classy crowd, so it’s even more attractive to celebrities like Nelly, Mandy Moore, Fergie, and Mario Lopez. You’ll generally find them partying in the elevated VIP area, which features posh banquettes and embossed leather walls.
