Description
Though it can't be compared to any of the luxury hotels on the Strip, Boulder Station is a comfortable and clean place to gamble and relax - and ultimately, comfortable and clean is all you need. The hotel-casino, located only 7 miles from McCarran International Airport and four blocks east of The Stratosphere, is designed with a traditional Victorian feel with hardwood walkways, brick columns, and stained glass windows.
Boulder Station offers 300 comfortable hotel rooms in a 15-story tower. Standard rooms come with hair dryers, an iron and ironing board, Pay Per View movies, Web TV, and High Speed internet, and VIP rooms come with additional amenities such as an in-room safe and in-room coffee. Rooms are basic, medium sized, and clean, and they come with standard furniture such as a dresser, table, and chairs. An additional bonus not available at every hotel, however, is that guests may request non-smoking floors as well as ADA approved accessible rooms. And the friendly staff will do their best to accommodate any additional requests you may have.
Couples on a getaway will appreciate the extra amenities Boulder Station offers, such as an 11-screen Regal Cinemas multiplex inside the hotel-casino, as well as the Railhead, a centralized lounge offering cocktails, dancing, and unique live entertainment. And those with kids in tow will definitely appreciate Kids Quest, an on-site, professionally supervised entertainment setting for children six weeks to twelve years old. Little ones will love the indoor playground, non-violent video games, and karaoke sound and video stage, and mom and dad will love it as a safe, inexpensive babysitting service.
Locals, however, come for the 75,000 square-foot casino, a cheery center of activity surrounded by restaurants, lounges, and shops. Blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, Pai Gow, and Three Card Poker tables are aplenty, as are new slot machines and attentive cocktail servers.
And dining at Boulder Station is inexpensive but tasty. A variety of cuisines is available to choose from, ranging from the succulent steaks of The Broiler to the spicy flair of Guadalajara Bar & Grille to the comforting blue-plate specials of Boulder Café.
Though it will adequately serve the purpose of some vacationers and seem like an incredible deal to others, Boulder Station is a comfortable and well-managed hotel-casino, suitable for anyone who can appreciate the quieter, less glitzy side of Las Vegas.
