Show Tips

Las Vegas is all about the shows! There is literally something for just about everyone. No matter what your favorites may be, you’ll find it here: comedians, musicals, headliners, Cirque du Soleil, Broadway, magicians, impressionists, kids shows, variety acts, and pretty much anything else you could think of. However, there are a few tips that you should follow to ensure you get the best price and that you get the most out of your vacation budget. The shows in Las Vegas can get expensive so picking the right show at the right price can be crucial.

If you love Cirque du Soleil, which most people do, then you will probably want to get tickets to a Cirque production. After all, Las Vegas has a total of five running Cirque du Soleil productions. However, if you on a budget you may want to choose wisely. One of the most reasonably priced Cirque du Soleil shows, Mystere, is considered a classic in Las Vegas. It was the first Cirque show in Las Vegas and it is still considered one of the best. Mystere is the best way to see Cirque without breaking the bank.

If you are really looking to get a great price on shows, the best idea is to check out an afternoon show. These shows are great for traveling with kids because adult subject matter is often toned down for earlier performances. Our favorite afternoon show is Gregory Popovich’s Comedy Pet Theater. This afternoon show is great for kids with live animals performing tricks in a variety show that is entertaining for adults as well. Tickets for this show have some of the best prices in town.

While tickets for headliners can get expensive, there are some headliners that offer tickets at great prices. Penn and Teller offer great comedy mixed with magic in a smart and witty performance. Although not appropriate for children, Penn and Teller are a Las Vegas favorite.

If you absolutely must see your favorite pop star live on stage, then we say go for it. This is Vegas and in most cases this will be a once in a life-time-opportunity. If you do plan on seeing a big headliner like Cher, Bette Midler, or Elton John, we suggest you purchase your tickets in advance in order to get the best price. Don’t be afraid to splurge a little though. After all, this is Las Vegas!
