Walking up to the massive Circus Circus Hotel can be overwhelming at first. A large circus tent guarded by a happy clown light up the night sky contributing to the radiant glow of the Las Vegas Strip. As guest enter through the circus tent, they may realize that the tent isn't really a tent at all and actually a permanent structure. As soon as you walk through the door, fun pretty much smacks you in the face. This whimsical wonderland is such a refreshing change from the adult-oriented Strip that you may just forget where you are. Colorful clowns and circus performers walk the casino just as if they were regular people and no one seems to look twice. The casino itself is filled with colorful flashing lights just like any casino, but with a little bit of a circus twist. There is also an arcade just for kids with no gambling allowed, of course. Walk a little farther and you will find the midway with even more games and characters walking around entertaining the kids.
Once you reach the main lobby and check-in area of Circus Circus, you won't believe your eyes. In direct contrast with the colorful children's area, you'll find the lobby of an upscale hotel decorated in marble, gold, and grand fixtures. A dark red carpet contrasts a simulated sky, covered in clouds set to a peaceful night sky. Behind the desk you'll see artwork that resembles a bright red circus curtain, almost forcing guests to wonder what lies "behind the curtain" and upstairs in their guest rooms. Large opulent columns line the front desk with modern light fixtures that give the lobby an updated touch. Dim lighting and spot lights on the desk create a stage-like effect just like..that's right-like at the circus.
