Best Places to Gamble for Experienced Gamblers

We get it, you’re an expert on gambling and you don’t need our help. Right? Well we have put together a few tips for even the most experienced gamblers in Las Vegas. I mean, after all, we are the experts. Many gamblers have loyalties to certain casinos because they gain points there and are given comps. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean you are choosing the best places to gamble or that you are getting the best odds. In fact, many of the fancier hotels on the Strip offer some of the worst odds. They often make up for this by showering casino guests with things like show tickets, free hotel rooms, other goodies and incentives to get you into the casino and keep you there.

There are two types of gamblers in Las Vegas: those that are here to play, have fun, and get some free stuff while they’re at it and there are those who are here to win. If you don’t care about comps or loyalties and you are here to outsmart the casinos and prove that you actually can win in Vegas, there are a few casinos that will probably give you the best shot at achieving your goal. As a general rule, downtown hotels offer better odds than Strip hotels. The Golden Nugget is a favorite among serious gamblers because the odds are better than the Strip, but the comps are usually just as good. The Golden Nugget is what we like to call a “middle of the road” casino, where everyone can have a good time and often people leave with a few bucks or break even! And, when it comes to Vegas, breaking even is pretty much as good as winning. If you really want to clean up and think you can handle playing with the big dogs, the El Cortez is considered to be the most “generous” casinos. There are even still a few full-pay video poker machines in the El Cortez, so if you’re looking to win, check it out. Another great way to win in Las Vegas is to play only in tournaments. Tournaments are the best way to walk away with a good amount of cash in Vegas. These tournaments are designed for great players, so unless you are an experienced poker player, it might be a good idea to stay away. When it comes to regular betting, there is only one game to play and that’s craps. Craps has the lowest house edge of any game in the casino. The reason for this is because it is also one of the most difficult games to learn.

If you are in town just for fun and want to bet high, have fun, and be showered with comps then the Strip is the place for you. Also keep in mind that although you will have to bet higher when playing in the luxury resorts, you will also have more to gain. Casino Hotels like the Wynn, Venetian, Mirage, MGM Grand, and Caesars Palace are a few of the expert’s favorites. If you do plan on playing at a Strip casino, be sure to pick one and stick with it. Get noticed by a casino host and if your bets are high enough, almost your entire trip will be paid for.
