It’s no doubt that the Flamingo is one of the biggest landmarks on the Strip. In fact, it happens to be the oldest hotel on the Strip and one of the main reasons that Las Vegas is what it is today. However, the Flamingo has changed a lot since then and while the guest rooms still maintain some of their original glitz and glamour, the rooms are modern and don’t at all resemble the way the hotel once looked. The tropical theme is slowly but surely disappearing with the rest of the themes that are getting left behind (or at least on the outside) at most hotels.
If you’re looking for a simple discounted room in a great location, the slightly outdated Deluxe Rooms will be the perfect fit. At 350 square feet, these rooms offer a desk, chair, entertainment center, television, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, cable, and internet access. These rooms are available with one king or two queen beds. They are simply furnished and decorated with typical hotel décor. Floral bed patterns and sturdy wood furniture are comfortable but nothing over-the-top. The rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows and great views of the Las Vegas Strip.
However, those looking for a truly unique and luxurious Las Vegas vacation should stay in one of the newly updated Go Rooms. These retro-inspired rooms are some of the coolest in town and they also offer all the amenities that you could want in a hotel room without losing any of its shine. The first thing you will notice in the Go Room is the bed. A bright white light-up canopy reflects so brightly off the white patent leather head board that you may need to put on sunglasses to see it. Pink stripped wallpaper gives the room a hip and fun feel, while muted furniture turns down the volume just a bit. A large closet with frosted glass is perfect for ensuring wrinkle-free evening wear and a 42” plasma TV is perfect for relaxing in between Vegas adventures. Other amenities include a marble-top dresser with iPod docking station and stereo, CD/DVD player, a deluxe bathroom with frosted glass doors, large jetted showers, vanity with contemporary vessel sink, and even a TV built right into the mirror. Bedrooms feature ultra-soft pillow-top mattresses, comfortable duvets, and soft blankets.
Although, not as much fun as the Go Rooms, the Flamingo also offers large suites. Some suites can be as big as 1,700 square feet and offer separate bathrooms with showers, soaking tubs, marble floors, large bedrooms with king size beds and sitting areas, sitting parlors, double vanities, full dining areas, and more. Suites come in one and two bedroom floor plans. Suites are located on the top floors of the hotel and offer some of the best views on the entire Strip.
