The Shangri-la Pool area at Imperial Palace mixes the treasures of the orient with a tropical island oasis. The large Olympic size pool is surrounded by palm trees and other tropical plants. The pool deck is large and optimal for sunbathing with just a towel sprawled onto the deck itself. Towels and comfortable lounge chairs are provided by the hotel. There are also plenty of rocks and even a waterfall to create a soothing atmosphere while lounging in the sun.
Shangri-la offers a full service deli that serves lunch as well as alcoholic beverages. However, what’s really unique about this pool is its party scene. During Luau season, which is primarily May through September, the pool area is transformed into a traditional Pacific Luau which is not to be missed. Every Tuesday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. guests will want to put on their grass skirts and get there early. All guests wear Hawaiian leis and enjoy a traditional all-you-can-eat Island Feast. There are also great drinks, live music, hula dancing, and even fire-breathing competitions. There’s nothing else like it anywhere else on the Strip.
