JW Marriott Casino

The JW Marriott prides itself as a luxury golf resort and many of the most elite high-rollers in town frequent the casino when they are tired of all the madness on the Strip. The casino is located in Summerlin which a few miles from the Strip. This is another reason why this casino is a favorite gambling spot for locals. They can just stroll in and play a few quiet games among the likes of some professional local gamblers. Don’t let the refined atmosphere fool you though, this casino can get pretty hoppin' at night and there is plenty of fun to be had. Hey, even high-rollers like to let loose every once in a while.

JW offers plenty of your favorite games. For example: blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, 3 card poker, Pai-Gow, Let It Ride, and many others are always in going no matter what hour you happen to stop by. What really stands out at the casino, however, are not the games but the fancy tables, chairs, and decorations. The casino looks more like a 5-star restaurant than your average locals joint. Table has plush tops, comfy arm rest, and soft swivel chairs (designed to keep people sitting in them for hours). You might expect to find high minimum bets like at Wynn, but you’re in for a surprise. The minimum bets on most games run somewhere around $5. You can even play craps with only $5 on the pass line. Trust us, this is a rarity when it comes to upscale Las Vegas casinos. While the casinos main focus isn’t on slots, they offer some of the nicest and newest machines in town. Slots range from a penny to about $5 and many of them are progressive slots with full video screens. Mostly games like Wheel of Fortune, Monopoly, and Little Green Men. However, having limited slots in a casino isn’t always a bad thing. It certainly keeps the place quiet allowing poker players to concentrate. The hotel is also very generous when it comes to free drinks. They offer almost any type of liquor or beer that you could ask for, especially if you are betting high hands. The waitresses come around often and they are friendly and pretty efficient. The casino hosts are also quite generous here so make friends with them and make sure you get noticed when betting high hands. They also offer a slot club which offers great cash back and comps for frequent players.

The sports book is large and comfortable. There are 5 big screen TVs and 5 average size TVs. They are also more of an equal opportunity race and sport book meaning that half the place is dedicated to races and half to sports. There are about 70 seats and six windows for betting. Free drinks are offered to anyone betting while watching the races and the games. Minimums at this book are the standard $5 for sports and $2 for racing. There are also four tables for poker, however, they are located in the middle of the bit so there is little privacy for poker players. They offer mostly low stakes Hold-em with a no limit game thrown in every once in a while. This casino is fun for beginners because the stakes aren’t that high. However, keep in mind this is a local’s spot so many player here know what they’re doing. Overall, the JW Marriott is a great place to play and we give it an A+.
