The Palms Casino Review

It’s no secret that the Palms Las Vegas is one of the hippest hotels on the Strip. However, what many tourists don’t realize is that the Palms has a dual personality. During the week, the hotel draws in the locals with discount buffets and penny slots; but on the weekends the place takes on a completely different look when college kids and young people from Southern California flock to the party Mecca for a weekend getaway. No matter when you decide to stop by the Palms Hotel, the casino is always full of action. At the Palms it’s not unlikely to see people standing around a craps table shouting or see people jumping up and down in front of slot machines. This casino really is a hot one and locals and tourists alike just can’t get enough of it.

When it comes to gaming at the Palms, there is more than a wide selection. The casino is large and a bit spread out so make sure to walk around for a while before making your selection. The casino itself carries on the beachside theme of the hotel with tropical fans that on the ceiling that are mostly for show but still get the point across. Most of the tables are located in one area near the hotel’s casino bar. You’ll find all your favorites at this tropical hot spot including: blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, Pai Gow, Let It Ride, three-card-poker, Caribbean Stud, and much more. The Palms Las Vegas also offers a sophisticated high-limit lounge for the high-rollers and their preferred casino guests. Table minimums start at a pretty reasonable $10, sometimes you will find a table with a minimum bet of $5 but probably only during the week when the locals flood the place. Slots start at a nickel and go about as high as you could imagine in the high-limit area. There are more than 2000 slot machines at the Palms Las Vegas and most are the newer varieties of multi-line video slots. The Palms is also known as one of the best places for video poker. They have tons of machines at all denominations and they offer lots of full-pay machines which are becoming increasingly harder to find on the Strip. The cocktail services caters mostly to the young crowd so they are on the top of their game when it comes to good, strong, free, and fast drink service. The locals love the Palms because they are pretty generous when it comes to comps. They offer 25% pay back on slot and video poker play. They also will offer comps to those betting at least $50 a hand.
