The Stage
There is no traditional stage for KÀ™ by Cirque du Soleil®. Instead, it has a slender boardwalk that separates the audience from what seems to be an empty void that acts as a blank canvas for the show. Within that nothingness, stage platforms appear, disappear, lift, and rotate to enhance the narrative. The stage can be rotated 360 degrees and raised almost at a 90-degree angle to allow for stunning gravity-defying stunts and unique viewing angles. One scene involves a sinking ship, and after the boat is submerged, the stage instantly transforms to an underwater atmosphere where the characters swim to the top of the theater. The immense size of the KÀ™ Theatre accommodates large moving parts and compliments the grandeur of the show.
Acts
The KÀ™ acrobatic performers excel in pole swinging and aerial acrobatics on an ever-moving stage. The center of gravity flows as they add a mix of Capoeira dancing and other martial arts to the choreography. KÀ™ by Cirque du Soleil® not only features amazing acrobatics and action like the wheel of death and bungee stunts, but a beach scene provides lots of lovable comedic characters. And the show really takes puppetry to a new level. There’s a hut that transforms into a human-powered flying machine that soars above the audience and a forest scene that includes a 24-foot snake.
