While America’s Party is happening along the Las Vegas Strip, your family’s party may be a bit tamer, with a few hundred thousand fewer people. At 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, the Las Vegas Strip will be closed to all traffic, and more than 300,000 people will party in the streets into 2019.

A couple of things for parents to keep in mind:

  • Hotels located along the Las Vegas Strip will close their doors from 11 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. Only registered guests will be allowed to enter.
  • Strollers are not allowed on the strip after 6 p.m.

There are local events that may be more suitable for the younger crowd. Enjoy afternoon fun, and then huddle together to watch the fantastic fireworks displays, away from the bustling crowds.

Fireworks displays will be hosted by the following Strip properties this year. The shows will last a total of 8 minutes and 18 seconds, beginning at midnight.

Treasure Island
ARIA Resort & Casino
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
Caesars Palace
The Venetian
Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower
