Cirque du Soleil is adding yet another show to its Las Vegas lineup. AXEL, a new on-ice spectacle will perform at T-Mobile Arena April 3 - 5, 2020.
While we know Cirque productions are anything but typical, AXEL takes this idea one step further by being the company’s first ice skating show. The fresh take on skating coupled with the skill and power of traditional pairs, solo and adagio sets the stage for skating of all kinds.
Named after the show’s main character, Axel, a young graphic artist and musician, the show takes audiences on a journey inspired by music, graphic arts and love. Axel falls in love with the captivating Lei and together they set off on a fast-paced journey to retrieve the stolen light from the supervillain Vi. Along the way, the audience is captivated by spectacular ice skating, Cirque’s breathtaking acrobatics, visual effects, and an upbeat soundtrack.
AXEL’s music serves as a narrative guiding the characters and audience as they journey with Axel and Lei to discover how powerful true love can be. Inspired by a big arena concert, audiences will feel just that as AXEL’s acrobatics and skating performances are highlighted by high-energy, pop music, visual effects, lighting and laser lights show.
AXEL will have six performances at the T-Mobile Arena this April:
Friday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 4 at 12:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Stay tuned for more details on Cirque du Soleil’s AXEL.
