This year Independence Day falls on a Thursday, so that means lots of festivities, starting with fireworks, fall over into the weekend. Here’s a roundup of the family fun and fireworks for the Fourth of July in Las Vegas.

Boulder City 
Fireworks: Veterans Memorial Park, Boulder City, 9pm, July 4th

Boulder City Damboree
Celebrate the Fourth of July with an early morning pancake breakfast, parade, legendary water fight, games, booths and concession stands. End the evening with a spectacular fireworks display.

The Pancake Breakfast begins at 7 a.m. at Bicentennial Park. The parade to Broadbent Park begins at Colorado Street at 9 a.m. The Broadbent Park festivities last from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Veterans Memorial Park festivities last from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m., and the fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.

Lake Las Vegas
Fireworks: Lake Las Vegas, 9 p.m., July 5th

Spend the evening of Friday, July 5, aboard La Contessa, a luxury yacht in Lake Las Vegas. Passengers will nosh down on hors d’oeuvres, listen to live entertainment, and take-home party favors. Tickets for the sunset cruise are $50 per person. But, if you prefer to pilot yourself around the water while fireworks erupt overhead, paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats, water bicycles, and electric boats can be rented from Lake Las Vegas Water Sports. Come early to The Village at Lake Las Vegas, where live music will be performed on a floating stage and barbecue will be served at Seasons Grocery.

Henderson 
Fireworks:

4th of July at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Casino

Celebrate Fourth of July at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa. Spend the day relaxing at our luxury pool and the night watching a Firework Show.

The pool is open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Admission to the pool is $20 for adult and $10 for kids. Cabana Rentals are available, starting at $350.

A nine-minute fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m.

Cowabunga Bay 
Cowabunga Bay will celebrate independence family style with a DJ, facepainting, balloon artists, food trucks and – of course – fireworks.The celebration lasts all day, from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Admission is $19.99 per person with a discount coupon from La Bonita Supermarkets.

Heritage Park in Henderson
The City of Henderson will once again host a family-friendly 4th of July celebration at Heritage Park, 350 E. Racetrack Rd. The annual event features live music, games, activities and concession. The fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and are expected to last 22 minutes.

This is a free event. Gates open at 4 p.m. Bring a blanket. Expect a large crowd.

Summerlin Area, Las Vegas
Fireworks: Red Rock Casino & Resort, 9 p.m., July 4th
Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade

The 25th annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade will include more than 70 entries this year, including the popular Vegas Golden Knights-themed float sponsored by City National Bank that debuted last year.

The popular parade will giant include inflatable balloons, military heroes, local bands and musical groups, plus a host of storybook and cartoon characters.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. on July 4th at the corner of Hillpointe Rd. and Hills Center Dr. in the Trails Village of Summerlin. Participants travel south toward Village Center Circle, then west on Trailwood Drive. The parade ends near the corner of Trailwood Drive and Spring Gate Lane.

The parade is open to the public. Expect a crowd. Arrive early, bring plenty of water, wear appropriate clothing and shoes, and of course don’t forget the sunscreen.

Northwest Las Vegas
Fireworks: Skye Canyon Park, 9 p.m., July 4th
Skye Canyon Park Fourth of July Celebration

Ward 6 Councilwoman, Michele Fiore, Ward 4 Councilman Stavros S. Anthony, and County Commissioner Larry Brown together are sponsoring a Fourth of July Celebration, hosted at Skye Canyon Park.

The celebration is family-friendly and begins at 6:30 p.m. Families can enjoy music, live performances, concessions, and a fireworks display. Free refreshments will be provided while supplies last. The first 500 people in the park will receive a free American flag.

Las Vegas Strip & Downtown Las Vegas
Fireworks: Caesars Palace, 9:15 p.m., July 4th
Caesars Palace will once again host the fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip. Come early for the best spot. Keep in mind that the strip will be open to vehicle traffic so the sidewalks will get crowded.

STRAT Hotel & Casino, 9:15 p.m., July 4th
Formerly known as The Stratosphere, this North strip properly is hosting an Independence Day bash. The fireworks display will light up the 1,149-foot tower on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Mandalay Bay Beach, 10:30 p.m., July 4th
Mandalay Bay will host a Fourth of July fireworks display after the Mystic Roots Band performs. Concert attendees will enjoy the Mandalay Bay Pool and beach area and have front seat access to the fireworks show, scheduled to begin around 10:30 p.m., following the concert. Tickets start at $20.
 

Plaza Hotel, Downtown Las Vegas, 9 pm, July 4th
On July 4th, there will be fireworks above downtown Las Vegas and a hot dog eating contest where hotdog lovers can win a $200 cash prize, 2-night stay at The Plaza, $150 to Oscar’s Steakhouse, and a poolside cabana with $50 for food and beverages. There will also be a live DJ and drink specials so you can dance the night away.
