Motown Philly certainly is back again as the four-time Grammy Award-winning R&B sensation Boyz II Men announced today that they will begin an extended residency at The Mirage beginning March 1.

The Motown crooners including baritone and founder Nathan Morris and tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman will perform 78 shows in the Terry Fator Theatre on select weekend dates March 1 through Dec, 29.

“We’ve been dreaming of this day since we performed an extended holiday show two years ago in Las Vegas,” said Morris. “We’re thrilled to start 2013 with this amazing announcement and want to thank The Mirage and everyone who has made this dream a reality for us. We can’t wait to take the stage in March and be a part of the Las Vegas community.”

Franz Kallao, vice president of hotel operations at The Mirage, said, “All of us at The Mirage are excited to welcome Boyz II Men to our resort, giving guests the opportunity to experience one of the best R&B groups in the music industry. Boyz II Men will be a wonderful complement to our renowned entertainment lineup.”

In other Las Vegas celebrity news, contestants for the 2013 Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood arrived on the Strip yesterday. Their first order of duty was to introduce themselves to media and fans at the Las Vegas hotel. Each contestant introduced herself and her home state. The 2013 Miss America pageant will air live at Planet Hollywood on Saturday, Jan. 12.

R&B star R. Kelly was spotted at LAX Nightclub in the Luxor yesterday. The Grammy Award-winner arrived at the Las Vegas nightclub around midnight where he took over the main stage sipping cocktails and meeting his fans.

And speaking of R&B singers, Brandy wrapped up her New Year’s Eve festivities here with dinner at Tao Asian Bistro at the Venetian on Tuesday night. Prior to her dinner, Brandy rang in the New Year at Lavo in the Palazzo. The newly engaged singer walked the red carpet before making her way into the nightclub where she led party-goers in a countdown and then sang two of her hit songs.  Later in the evening, Brandy and her fiancé were surprised with a cake topped with a ring to celebrate their engagement.

Also at Lavo on New Year’s Eve were actors Jamie Foxx, Kevin Connolly and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Meanwhile, hip-hop artist J Cole hosted New Year’s Eve at Tao and surprised the crowd with three songs. At Marquee in the Cosmopolitan Benny Benassi closed out 2012 with an explosive version of his Metamorphosis show.
