Celine Dion adds new dates to Las Vegas residency

Canadian songstress Celine Dion continues to reign supreme in Las Vegas, and with a contract that extends into 2018, we don’t expect that to change any time soon.

The global icon first began her journey in Las Vegas on March 25, 2003 with her debut residency “A New Day” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The show was contracted for three years and 600 shows but quickly became the most successful residency show of all time in Las Vegas, grossing $385 million. After some time off, she made her triumphant return with an updated residency at The Colosseum.

In October 2016, Celine made show business history when she passed the 1,000th show mark. Due to popular demand, 37 more shows have been added including a New Year’s Eve performance.  Here are the new dates scheduled from Sept. 19, 2017 through Jan. 20, 2018:

Sept.: 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, 30

Oct.: 3, 4, 6, 7

Nov.: 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24, 25

Dec.: 30, 31

Jan.: 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 20

During the many years that Celine has performed in Vegas, she has taken brief hiatuses from the Strip including a four year break that included a world tour of “A New Day” and “Taking Chances.”

Sadly, on August 13, 2014, Celine postponed her show because of her husband Rene Angelil’s worsening health. She put her Asian tour and Caesars residency on hold and then returned in August 2015. Five months later, Rene died from throat cancer, and she canceled all of that month’s shows. Just a month later, Celine returned to her show and sang Queen’s “The Show Must Go On,” which it did and will continue to do.

Congratulations to Celine and her impact on Vegas. To see her award-winning show with all-new dates at The Colosseum look for discounted tickets right here on Best of Vegas.
