Las Vegas will remind you why you love this time of the year. Our fabulous city already looks illuminated with Christmas lights all year round, and when the holidays do finally come around, we are more than ready to celebrate. Here are the best things to do in Las Vegas for the Christmas season.

Global Winter Wonderland
On Dec. 14, a spectacular lantern festival and multicultural theme park will make its Las Vegas debut in the north lot of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. At Global Winter Wonderland, visitors will be able to travel around the world in one night by viewing the larger-than-life lantern designs of landmarks from all seven continents. Highlights include recreations of the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower and Chichen Itza. The whole family will be able to enjoy this event which also features photos with Santa, arts and crafts, games and carnival rides, international cuisine, live entertainment and celebrations of holiday traditions and various cultures from around the world. The event runs through Jan. 20, 2019.

Las Vegas Great Santa Run
Las Vegas is ho-ho-home to the fabulous Great Santa Run! Thousands of runners and walkers gather in Downtown Las Vegas each year to raise money for Opportunity Village, a non-profit that serves adults with intellectual disabilities. Each registrant receives a full Santa suit, a swag bag and more!  Even if you do not want to participate in the run, it makes for a great social media post when you see thousands of people suited up in their Santa attire. This event will definitely put you in the holiday mood!
The Great Santa Run takes places on Dec. 1.
