With a new year following the busy holiday season, Las Vegas is ready to start the New Year in a big way.  From the Consumer Electronics Show starting on Jan. 7 to Chinese New Year at the end of the month those visiting the Strip can expect big crowds and lots of fun. For locals, those looking to start the decade with a new focus are invited to experience “Veganuary,” presented by Vegans, Baby, plus other culinary delights across town.

Bobby’s Burger Palace
When: All Month
What: Located between Aria and Park MGM, and easily accessible to guests going to a Las Vegas Golden Knights game, Bobby’s Burger Palace wants to help visitors celebrate the New Year with a great new burger and shake. Known as BBP to fans and featuring the vision of Bobby Flay plus top notch service, January looks north by adding the “Canadian Burger” to an already great menu. Topped with white cheddar cheese, Canadian bacon and maple-mustard sauce, pair it with a Banana Nutella shake for a decadent treat to celebrate the arrival of 2020 all month long.

Naked City Pizza
When: All Month
What: Although Christopher and Michael Palmeri were born in Buffalo, these brothers have made their presence felt in Las Vegas for over a decade. Naked City evolved from humble beginnings inside Moon Doggies Bar & Grill on Arville to its current locations, ranging from Paradise to Henderson. Guests visiting any Naked City location can expect big flavors and constant innovation. Always a great place for pizzas that lie halfway between Midwestern pan-style and New York Sicilian, Naked City helps celebrate Veganuary at both the PTs location at 10940 South Eastern Avenue and inside Blue Diamond Saloon.  Guests visiting can, of course, expect all the old favorites plus great new items including a vegan sub with vegan sausage, peppers and onions plus Follow Your Heart Mozzarella or the vegan pulled “pork” pizza including garlic-BBQ sauce, Before the Butcher pulled “pork,” red onion, jalapeño and crispy onions.

Pinkbox Doughnuts

What: With over six years serving Las Vegas, Pinkbox Doughnuts never stops creating, and during the month of October all three locations will feature a special Chocolate Chip Banana Fritter cleverly titled “Chocolate Banana Fo Fanna.” As a bonus, for guests considering a vegan lifestyle, the location at 9435 W. Tropicana Blvd. will feature “Doctors Orders,” with Granny Smith apples and cinnamon, topped with cinnamon sugar streusel, plus the “Silly Rabbit,” which includes shredded carrots, raisins and cinnamon beneath vanilla cream.

Rosallie ‘Le French Café’

What: Located just north of the I-215 on S. Rainbow Blvd., Rosallie Le French Café represents a work of passion from Jonathan Pluvinet, a native of Nice whose family owned a similarly named restaurant back home. Already Las Vegas’ premier bakery for French pastry, guests visiting in January can celebrate Epiphany (Jan. 6) all month long with a traditional galette des rois. Served to mark the day the Three Kings visited the infant Jesus, diners can expect the royal treatment when enjoying this traditional tart made with pastry, butter and ground almonds, but be sure to call 702-998-4121 a day in advance to make sure yours is available.

Shiraz

What: A part of Las Vegas’ dining scene since mid-2018, Shiraz at 2575 South Decatur Blvd. wants to help Las Vegas start the New Year right. Owned by Raja Abdul Majid and featuring the talents of Chef Jainine Jaffer, the menu ranges from Indian to Persian effortlessly. Already offering many vegetarian and vegan options, January sees the menu expand further with everything from coconut ginger lentil soup to mango Manchurian cauliflower. With proceeds benefitting A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue, guests can not only eat well but also support a good cause.
