Ah Thanksgiving. The day where we eat to excess and don’t feel bad about it one bit. Thanksgiving is meant to be spent enjoying but what happens when you’ve had too much? How do you prevent the dreaded food coma? Here are Best of Vegas’ best tips to get you back out on the Strip in no time:

Go for a Walk
After a big meal it’s always helpful to move around and be active. There is so much to see and do in the city it’s easy to head outside and take a stroll up and down the Strip for 20 or 30-minutes. You can always pop into the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens to see the fall display. There are also plenty of museums to keep you moving like the Mob Museum and Real Bodies at Bally’s. Better yet, if you’re close to some nature go for a stroll in the desert. You’ll be surprised how much better you feel.

Get Back to Eating Normally ASAP
One of the easiest ways to recover from your Thanksgiving food coma is to get back to your regularly scheduled eating habits as soon as possible. Vegas is home to a plethora of healthy and health-conscious restaurants so you won’t skip a beat come Friday.

Dance It Off
Remember what we said about exercising post-meal? What better way to shake off the excess than by hitting up a Vegas nightclub? Get Out of House
Even if you don’t want to go for a walk or dance it out, you might still want to leave your house for a few so you don’t continue to eat or fall asleep (see below). There are plenty of attractions to enjoy up and down the Strip like Outdoor Shooting at Machine Gun Vegas. If your stomach can handle it take a ride on the High Roller for spectacular views of the city below.

Sleep
After your last piece of pumpkin pie it can be tempting to sit down on the couch and catch some zzz’s but we recommend that you wait just a bit to prevent heartburn and acid reflux.
