Las Vegas has become one of the nation’s top hot spots for vacationers. Long are the days when people only went to Sin City for the casinos – this town is now a full-fledged tourist destination, with attractions, high-end hotels and dining and something for everyone in the family. But this city is also known for its high prices, so no matter what kind of trip you’re looking for – saving or splurging – we have you covered with these tips below!

Hotels
Save: The New York New York Hotel and Casino not only allows guests to stay in Sin City on a budget, but it also possibly brings about the best theming in all of Vegas. Bringing the style of the Big Apple to Sin City, famous NYC icons such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the Brooklyn Bridge are all on the resort’s façade, while inside the hotel, faux trees and streams surround a replica of Central Park and flashing signs and lights represent Times Square. On the exterior of the hotel, The Manhattan Express Roller Coaster travels through the mini-Manhattan skyline, reaching 65 miles per hour at 144 feet high. There’s even a Coney Island amusement center complete with arcade games, bumper cars and laser tag for guests of all ages to enjoy. The food at New York New York won’t break the bank either, with traditional New York City street food such as hot dogs, pizza, and deli sandwiches available for a quick bite to eat.

Splurge: The fashionable and chic Mandalay Bay is a prominent spot for the Hollywood A-Lister and trendy traveler on the Las Vegas Strip. Its high-end contemporary decor, spacious suites and rooms have all the amenities and more for a chic Las Vegas stay and the boutique hotel style that it offers is a refreshing experience amidst all the grand Vegas excitement. The nightlife, shopping and dining venues of the Mandalay Bay offer something for everyone and solidifies this resort as the best for long weekend getaways. See sharks, sea turtles, manta rays and a rare golden crocodile, as you walk into a transparent walkway through a 1.6-million-gallon aquarium with over 2,000 living animals at the Shark Reef Aquarium. Take a trip down the lazy river in the lush settings of the Mandalay Bay Beach or swim in one of three pools, including a colossal wave pool that has 2,700 tons of real sand, cabanas, bars and even a Beachside Casino. If you’re looking to spend a lot of time in your Vegas hotel, this one is definitely worth the splurge!

Restaurants
Save: While Las Vegas has become known for its foodie scene, contrary to popular belief, it IS possible to eat in Vegas and not break the bank. If you’re looking for a cheap meal, check out fast food favorites such as In-N-Out Burger, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell and McDonald’s, just to name a few. And if you’re looking to eat at local places but still not break the bank, try Mr. Mamas, a local diner that has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, or Secret Pizza at the Cosmopolitan, home to New York-style pies with big taste and low prices!

Splurge: If you’re looking for fine dining on your next trip to Vegas, check out Joel Robuchon, an unparalleled French restaurant at MGM Grand. Named after the famous French chef with three Michelin stars, Joel Robuchon has a level of elegance that is unsurpassed in Sin City. Le Cirque, which means “the circus,” is another fine-dining establishment that couples a sophisticated take on a three-ring design with an unrivaled view of the famed Bellagio fountains. Finally, many of the hotels on the Strip have buffets, which have become big-ticket items due to their high price point, but they are sure to deliver on top-notch food as well.

Attractions
Save: There are not many things in Las Vegas that are free and open to the public, but one such attraction is the Bellagio Fountains! But you may be asking yourself – what makes this a tourist attraction? This daily show runs intermittently and features choreographed soaring fountains synchronized to music. Located directly in front of the Bellagio, this attraction is a fan-favorite in Sin City and a must-see for any visitor!

Splurge: For a once-in-a-lifetime driving experience, head over to the Exotics Car Driving & Racing Experience by Exotics Racing. Not only do they have the largest fleet of exotic cars in Las Vegas, they also let anyone (yes, that’s you!) live out their wildest dreams of unique, expensive cars and high speed!

Tours
Save: Less than 20 miles from the heart of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is known for its towering red sandstone peaks and panoramic views. Guests can take a one-way 13-mile drive through the park, hike one of the many trails or even go camping in this preserved area. Or for a quick and comprehensive view of the city, hop on a Las Vegas Strip Tour or take an Open Top Sightseeing Day Tour for a different view of the city.

Splurge: Within a few hours’ drive of Las Vegas lies some of the most popular parks in the nation. Hop in a car or take a tour bus from Sin City to some of these amazing natural wonders of the world to view the vast valleys of the Grand Canyon or hike some of the toughest trails in the country at Zion National Park. Whether you are taking a Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tour or the Zion National Park Tour, these splurges will be well worth the memories that will last a lifetime!

Shows
Save: There is a reason why Blue Man Group has been so wildly successful over its 25+ year history – their show is simply downright entertaining. Between the vivid light show, the world-class percussionists, and the subtle interjections of spot-on humor, all these elements combine for a jaw-dropping performance. And on top of all of that, this particular show has been recently enhanced to wow audiences even more. There’s more music, theatrics, audience participation, and sensory overload than ever before waiting for you inside the Luxor. And best of all, it has one of the best prices of any show you will find in Las Vegas!

Splurge: Be astonished by great feats above, in and on a 1.5-million-gallon pool in the center of a spectacular European opera theater at O by Cirque du Soleil. This thrilling aquatic adventure encompasses a theatrical romance within a surrealistic world, combining synchronized swimmers and acrobatic divers for an experience that is truly breathtaking. The international cast of world-class performers creates an aquatic masterpiece inside the Bellagio for one of the Cirque du Soleil’s most popular shows, and while it may be pricey, it is often ranked at the top of most fans’ must-do lists in Sin City.
