Vegas might not be the place you think to visit when you think of the holidays, but the Strip is the perfect spot to enjoy some merriment. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly festivities, a little holiday humor or just some of Vegas’ unique entertainment with a seasonal twist, here are 5 reasons to spend the holidays in Vegas:
It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Vegas slows down just a tad in December (until New Years of course). It’s not enough to become a dead town but just enough to be a little less crowded and rowdy and more relaxing. Plus, the city offers some entertaining holidays shows and entertainment as you’ll see below. It’s really the best of both worlds.
The Holiday Experience at The Park
Jump right in to Vegas’ holiday scene at The Park at MGM Grand. Enjoy 21 days of holiday flavors and festive fun at The Holiday Experience. The festival includes something for everyone like sweet treats, warm cocktails, photo ops, live entertainment and interactive experiences. The Holiday Experience takes place daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Starting Dec. 22 you can experience it from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Strip is always aglow but in December, it really lights up. Not only can you take in all of the festive decor throughout the Strip, but you can head on over to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and take in the most gorgeous lights display in the city. The Speedway decorates for the season with 3 million LED lights. Guests can travel the 2.5-mile track and take in the gorgeous glowing sight.
Tournament of Kings Holiday Show: ’Twas the Knight
Tournament of Kings has taken its popular medieval dinner theater and transformed it into a holiday show full of jolly jousting, festive knights and the merry Merlin the wizard. You’ll even see snow fall at this holly jolly show.
A Very Terry Christmas
Speaking of holiday shows, we can’t make a list of “5 reasons to spend the holidays in Vegas” without including this popular show. The ventriloquist comedian is a show to see on any day but during the season he takes his dummies and jokes and adds a little holiday cheer. If you need a good laugh this time of year this is the show to see.
